Rønning revealed the filming of Tron: Ares had just started for Tron: Ares after the 2023 SAG-AFTRA Strike in January under the title Velcro and it is still going on. Jeff Cronenweth is the Cinematographer of this film.

The filming of the film began on January 15, 2024 and is currently expected to continue till May 1, 2024.

Some time ago, news out that the Cambie Bridge was closed overnight on 14 March, and on 15 March, a motorcyclist dressed in a red illuminated suit, later identified as Ares (Jared Leto), was seen driving his motorcycle for his upcoming film Tron: Ares.
