HBO’s latest series, Task, is currently under production and will start filming in Aston Township next week.
This is going to be a crime drama television created and written by Brad Ingelsby.
HBO announced the series in June 2023, and in December 2023, it was announced that Brad Ingelsby, who served as creator and writer, along with Salli Richardson-Whitfield, would direct some episodes of the series.
A notice was posted via Aston Township officials about the scheduled filming of the Task Series.
It will be filmed in the 5th Ward of the township on Thursday, March 21.
The upcoming series is created by Brad Ingelsby and Jeremiah Zagarand, who have also created Mare”.
The series will star Mark Ruffalo as an FBI. In an interview with Deadline, Mark Ruffalo, about his role in Task, said, “It’s a whole new era.
Next up is an FBI agent for HBO in Task, a miniseries from Brad Ingelsby and Jeremiah Zagar.”
He said, “He plays a good guy “but complicated,.” “He’s badly damaged but fighting for good.”
The cast members will include Tom Pelphrey as Robbie, Emilia Jones as Maeve, Thuso Mbedu as Aleah, Raúl Castillo as Cliff, Jamie McShane as Perry, Sam Keeley as Jayson, and Fabien Frankel as Anthony.

Task (HBO) Update (2026)
Updated August 2026. HBO’s limited series “Task,” from “Mare of Easttown” creator Brad Ingelsby, premiered September 7, 2025, and streamed on HBO Max starting the same week. The seven-episode series stars Mark Ruffalo as an FBI agent leading a task force investigating a string of robberies in the working-class Philadelphia suburbs, with Tom Pelphrey playing the family man at the center of the case. The series, which filmed extensively around the Philadelphia area including Aston Township, drew strong reviews and became a streaming hit for HBO Max shortly after its debut.
