The filming of “The Bachelorette” Season 22 took an unexpected turn when new details from behind the scenes came out after the show was suddenly canceled.
A contestant from Taylor Frankie Paul’s season has now shared what really happened during filming. In an interview with E! News, he revealed that the set was full of drama, tension, and emotional moments.
According to the contestant, things were not always calm inside the mansion. He said that Taylor Frankie Paul, who was leading the season, sometimes lost her temper during filming.
“Not to the point of being violent, but she exploded on a couple of us,” he shared. He also added that it felt like she was “leaning into the drama” during the show.
The filming environment became even more intense when a game called “Truth Box” was introduced. This game was first seen on “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” and was brought up by Jessi Ngatikaura Draper.
The idea was simple — contestants could ask anonymous questions to each other to reveal hidden feelings. But the men on the show did not like this idea.
“Every single one of the guys, we all had beef with each other,” the contestant explained. Instead of hiding behind anonymous questions, they chose to speak directly to each other face-to-face.
Even though there were disagreements, the contestant said the group was still honest. He described the cast as “great dudes” who were open about their feelings.
However, all their efforts went to waste when ABC decided to cancel the season just days before its premiere.
The decision came after a 2023 video surfaced showing Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex Dakota Mortensen involved in a physical altercation. Following this, the network chose to stop the release of the season.
A spokesperson from Disney Entertainment told E! News that the decision was made to support the family during a difficult time.
The contestant said he felt frustrated and disappointed, as everyone had put in a lot of effort and emotions into filming the show.
“We all gave up so much to go do this,” he said, calling the experience a waste of time and energy after the cancellation.
Despite everything, he also showed concern for Taylor Frankie Paul, saying he hopes she gets the help she needs. The situation became more serious when reports confirmed that Utah police opened a domestic assault investigation related to another alleged incident involving Taylor and Dakota.
At the same time, Dakota Mortensen denied the claims and said he is focusing on the safety of their young son.
The filming of “The Bachelorette” Season 22 was expected to bring romance and excitement, but instead, it ended in controversy, leaving fans and contestants shocked.
