Yerin Ha Reveals Painful Skin Reaction After 7-Hour Bathtub Scene for Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2

Fans are still talking about the steamy bathtub scene between Sophie and Benedict in Season 4 of Bridgerton. But now, actress Yerin Ha is sharing what really happened behind the scenes — and it was not as glamorous as it looked on screen.

During a recent appearance on Capital Breakfast, Ha revealed that she developed a painful skin condition after filming the intimate bath sequence. The actress said she covered herself in baby powder before getting into the tub. She explained that she was told it would help dry her skin so she could wear her intimacy outfit with tape properly.

However, things did not go as planned.

Ha shared that the day after filming, she broke out in hives all over her body. She later found out she had developed folliculitis, a skin condition that causes itchy and painful bumps. She needed to use a steroid cream to treat it.

“I blame myself,” she admitted during the interview. Yerin Ha believes the mix of baby powder and bath water may have caused the reaction.

Her co-star Luke Thompson was also in the tub during filming. He revealed that they were submerged in water for six to seven hours while shooting the scene. Despite the long hours, Thompson said he did not have any skin issues. Yerin Ha joked that she is just “a sensitive gal.”

According to the Cleveland Clinic, folliculitis can happen when hair follicles become infected or inflamed. It can be triggered by sweating, bacteria, or sitting in water that affects the skin.

This was not the only filming challenge Ha faced this season. In an interview with PEOPLE, she previously shared that another intimate scene had to be delayed because she caught the flu during production.

Even with the setbacks, Yerin Ha said the romantic scenes in Bridgerton are meaningful. She explained that they are not added just for shock value. Instead, they help tell the story and show the emotional connection between the characters.

Season 4 of Bridgerton, now streaming on Netflix, continues to draw strong reactions from fans online. While viewers are praising the chemistry between Sophie and Benedict, Ha’s honest story has also started an important conversation about the real challenges actors face while filming demanding scenes.

Behind every glamorous moment on screen, there is often a surprising story off camera.
