Daisy Ridley’s “We Bury the Dead” Begins Filming In Western Australia

We Bury the Dead Filming Update: Daisy Jazz Isobel Ridley, better known as Daisy Ridley, has left her mark in the hearts of the audience by acting in many hit films. She starred in hit movies like 2015’s Star Wars Sequel Trilogy: The Force Awakens, 2017’s The Last Jedi, and 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker and has emerged prominent with her acting skills.

Apart from Daisy Ridley, the film also stars Mark Kelley Smith and Brenton Thwaites.

Now, according to some recent reports, Daisy Ridley is coming back in a new thriller film, “We Were Buried Dead.” Daisy Ridley plays Ava in this upcoming film. The film is directed and written by Zak Hilditch.

A few reports have confirmed that the Australian thriller film is currently in development in regional Western Australia. The filming unit chose Albany and Perth in Western Australia as filming locations.

When Will “We Bury the Dead” Start Filming?

ScreenWest.com has given a new filming update for They Were Buried Dead, saying that the filming of the thriller film has started from February 22, 2024.

Note: The film will be filmed in Albany and the Great Southern region of WA over the next 5 weeks.

The project has received funding from various sources, including Screen Australia, ScreenWest, and the WA Regional Screen Fund.

Grainne Brunsdon, Screen Australia’s content director, expressed his excitement over the project, saying he appreciated all the clever writing and direction. He said:-

“We Bury the Dead promises not only an enthralling narrative but also a stellar ensemble cast. To have the talented Daisy Ridley, Brenton Thwaites, and Mark Coles Smith bring this film to life, combined with the visionary direction of Zak Hilditch is incredibly exciting. Screen Australia is proud to back productions like We Bury the Dead, which will showcase our local talent – both in front and behind the camera – right around the globe.”

While director Zak Hilditch shared his excitement on the set of the film, saying:-

There is no news yet regarding the release of They Were Buried Dead, although it will be distributed by distributors Neon and Umbrella Entertainment.
