Walking Dead spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City is based on The Walking Dead characters Maggie and Negan and is the 1st sequel to the Walking Dead series and the 5th series in the franchise.
Not long ago news came out: The second season of your favorite Walking Dead series, “The Walking Dead: Dead City” is looking for locations for its filming.
After that, some time ago, Dead City Season 2 was filmed in Boston and was looking for additional cast members from the Boston area for filming.
The series was previously being filmed in Boston, Massachusetts, and now filming has moved to another Massachusetts city “Taunton.”
Recent reports confirm that The Walking Dead spinoff is set to begin filming in Taunton this week according to the wpri12news reports, The city of Taunton will be transformed this week for some film and series projects.
On Monday, a city spokesperson said that a small section of Taunton’s Whittenton Street will be closed as AMC begins filming the second season of “Walking Dead: Dead City.”
Taunton drivers will be detoured to Cottage and Warren streets from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. to looking traffic is not disrupted during filming.
Other than this, some time ago, Daryl Dixon Season 2 also received a filming update from Dead franchise Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple.

Dead City Update (2026)
Updated August 2026. The Taunton, Massachusetts filming captured here was part of production on what became Season 3 of “The Walking Dead: Dead City.” The season premiered July 26, 2026, airing weekly on AMC and AMC+ through an eight-episode run that wrapped with a September 13, 2026 finale. Each episode ran roughly 40 to 50 minutes, continuing Negan and Maggie’s story in the spinoff’s signature blend of zombie horror and New England-doubling-for-New-York location work that has kept the “Walking Dead” universe expanding years after the flagship series ended.
