Inside ‘The Traitors’: Contestants Face Strict Alcohol Rule During Filming

Peacock’s hit reality series ‘The Traitors’ is back with Season Four, and the game inside the famous castle is already full of shock exits, secret plans, and surprise betrayals. While viewers focus on who is a Faithful and who is a Traitor, many fans are now curious about what really happens behind the scenes during filming.

One former contestant has now revealed an important rule that all players must follow while competing — and it involves alcohol.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, who became a fan favorite during Season Two, recently opened up about the strict limits placed on contestants while cameras are rolling. In an interview after her dramatic elimination, she shared that drinking on the show is very controlled.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Ekin-Su explained that contestants are allowed only one alcoholic drink per night. “You can only drink one drink a night anyway, it was quite restricted,” she said. The rule is meant to keep players clear-headed during the intense psychological game, where trust and strategy matter more than anything else.

This detail surprised many fans, especially because the show often features late-night conversations, roundtable discussions, and emotional moments. However, according to insiders, producers want to ensure that decisions are made consciously, not under the influence of alcohol.

Ekin-Su’s comments are especially interesting because her exit from the show was one of the most shocking moments of her season. She was eliminated after accepting a “poisoned” drink from fellow contestant Parvati Shallow, who was secretly working as a Traitor. At the time, Ekin-Su had no idea Parvati was on the opposing side and accepted the drink without suspicion — a move that immediately ended her game.

Fans still talk about that scene because it showed how trust can be dangerous in the castle, even during what seems like a friendly moment.

As Season Four continues on Peacock, viewers are paying closer attention to the small details, including rules that shape how the game unfolds. With eliminations already happening and tensions rising, behind-the-scenes rules like the alcohol limit help explain why the show feels so controlled, intense, and strategic.

Meanwhile, drama off the screen is also heating up. A current contestant recently made headlines after publicly criticizing Colton Underwood, adding another layer of buzz around the franchise.

With secrets still hidden and Traitors still lurking, ‘The Traitors’ remains one of the most talked-about reality shows on streaming right now — both on screen and behind the castle walls.
