The Accountant 2: J.K. Simmons Confirms Filming Starts Next Week!

The new sequel to The Accountant, released in 2016, will begin filming with Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, JK Simmons, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson returning.

According to the Collider report, it has been updated that the film’s shooting will start after this week.

The highly anticipated action sequel has now received a lot of promotion and is being developed by Amazon’s MGM Studios.

Last week, filming finally began on The Accountant 2, which is set on Killing Tendency.

Like the previous Accountant actor, the film was directed by Gavin O’Connor, who also directed the second Accountant film, written by Bill Dubuque and wrote The Ozark on Netflix. The director always had a vision of a sequel in the beginning.

J.K. Simmons is returning for the follow-up as King, the director of Financial Crimes. While promoting his role in Invincible Season 2, Part 2, Simmons returns to Collider’s Nate Richard.

While this was a role in the sequel, Simmons’ production begins shooting next week.

He stated: “Yeah, I head to LA in a little over a week to do rehearsals and pre-production and start shooting my chunk. I’m not sure; I think they start early next week because I’m in the week after and doing my supporting thing.”

It turns out that the film’s director, Gavin O’Connor, had already considered making a sequel while making The Accountant, after which Affleck’s character came along. Simmons’ enthusiasm makes it clear how intersecting the script will be.

“There was a plan for a possible sequel at the very beginning. I mean, not a “plan” plan, not a story, but that was always a possibility, and thanks to Gavin O’Connor and Ben Affleck for really being determined to make it happen,”

In a conversation with Collider, JK Simmons said, “Yeah, I head to LA in a little over a week to do some rehearsals and pre-production and start shooting my chunk of it. I’m not sure. I think they start early next week because I’ll be in the week after and doing my supporting thing.”

Simmons said, “As I’m sure you know, that movie did well in theaters, but then it’s had a really, really popular resurgence in the last few years in streaming.

He explained, “It’s just such great characters and story. I’m glad they worked their butts off and now are with a different studio and finally making it work.

Many of us will be back, and [I’m] looking forward to my contribution to that and to the movie itself. It’s delicious. Bill Dubuque did the script with Gavin, and Ben added his input.

I continued by saying It’s the same with Invincible. Obviously, it’s a team game, but those three guys have been behind this for 7-8 years now, and finally, it’s coming to fruition, and I’m excited about it.”

Although not much information is available, such as the release date and other plot points for The Accountant 2, Invincible Season 2 Part 2 has started streaming on Prime Video.
