The Summer I Turned Pretty movie has officially finished filming — and before fans have even had a chance to process that news, TikTok is already surfacing footage that has sent the fandom into full speculation mode.
Gavin Casalegno, who plays Jeremiah Fisher in the beloved Amazon Prime Video series, confirmed the filming wrap during an appearance promoting his new thriller The Devil’s Mouth, revealing that production on the film had concluded. He added that even he doesn’t yet know when audiences can expect to see the finished movie, according to Cosmopolitan.

How We Got Here
The film was first confirmed at the conclusion of the Summer I Turned Pretty series, with Lola Tung and Chris Briney — who play Belly and Conrad — appearing together in a photo in front of a sign announcing the project. Series creator Jenny Han has described the film as addressing a chapter in Belly’s story that the show never fully closed. Production officially began on April 27, 2026, and has now wrapped.
Both Han and the full original cast are confirmed to be involved, meaning audiences will be reuniting with all the familiar faces — Tung, Briney, Casalegno, and the rest — for what promises to be a meaningful conclusion to the story.
The Ring That Has Everyone Talking
While official plot details remain tightly under wraps, fan-captured footage circulating on TikTok from the production has already given audiences plenty to discuss. Two clips in particular have generated significant attention — one showing Tung and Briney together on a boat on the water, and another that appears to show a large diamond ring on Lola Tung’s finger.
Whether that ring is a prop for the film, part of Belly’s character arc, or simply coincidental remains entirely unclear — but it has done nothing to calm the theories.
What Comes Next
With filming now wrapped, the project moves into post-production. An official release date has not been announced, but based on the current timeline, a summer 2027 premiere seems like the most logical target — which would place it in the same season as the events of the original series and feel appropriately symbolic for a story so defined by its summers.
