Everyone is waiting to see Sonic the Hedgehog 3, but there is very little time left and the filming of the movie is also over.
Yes, there is good news for Sonic fans: the filming of the movie has officially wrapped up. The news was shared by director Jeff Fowler via his Twitter account on Mar 29, 2024.
The director shared the picture of himself and wrote the caption, “And we are WRAPPED #SonicMovie3”
In February 2022, the announcement for a third Sonic the Hedgehog film was made even before the release of the second one.
Jim Carrey, who earlier announced his retirement, will return as Dr. Robotnik. Filming for the animated characters began in Surrey, England, in July last year after the SAG-AFTRA strike of the previous year.
Filming with the live-action actors began in November. The new movie is reportedly inspired by two earlier video games, Sonic Adventure 2 and the Shadow-centric spin-off from 2005.
Fans of the previous film can look forward to seeing James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Tika Sumpter, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Lee Majdoub, and Idris Elba in Sonic The Hedgehog 3.
However, the voice actor for the character Shadow the Hedgehog has not yet been announced.
Toby Ascher, Neal H. Moritz, Toru Nakahara, and Hitoshi Okuno are producing the film with executive producers Tim Miller and Haruki Satomi.
The film is set to hit theatres on December 20, 2024 by Paramount Pictures.
