‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Final Season Starts Filming as Jeremy Renner Returns and David Morse Joins the Cast

Filming has officially started for the fifth and final season of the crime drama “Mayor of Kingstown.” The popular Paramount+ series is returning with Jeremy Renner once again leading the story as Mike McClusky, the man who tries to keep order in the dangerous town of Kingstown.

The new season will mark the final chapter of the show. Production is now underway, and the upcoming season will include eight episodes that will bring the story to its conclusion.

Along with Jeremy Renner, the series is also welcoming a new cast member. David Morse, known for his work in “We Were Liars,” has joined the show as a series regular. He will play FBI agent Russell Hardy, a tough investigator who arrives in Kingstown with an important mission.

According to a report by Showbiz Junkies, the story of the final season begins after the shocking events involving Tracy’s murder. The revenge taken by Mike McClusky and Kyle McClusky against Callahan has created even more tension in the city.

In the upcoming season, Agent Russell Hardy comes to Kingstown looking for Callahan, who is now considered a fugitive. Hardy is described as a true lawman who is determined to uncover the truth. His investigation could expose Mike’s hidden secrets and past actions, which may upset the fragile balance of power in Kingstown.

Several familiar faces will also return in the final season. The returning cast includes Edie Falco, Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, and Derek Webster. The series will also see the return of Necar Zadegan, Nichole Galicia, and Lennie James.

The drama series was co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, who both serve as executive producers. The executive producing team also includes Jeremy Renner, Antoine Fuqua, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Wendy Riss, Evan Perazzo, Michael Slovis, Regina Corrado, and Keith Cox.

The show’s showrunner is Dave Erickson, who also works as an executive producer on the series.

Production for the final season is being handled by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions.

Since its debut, “Mayor of Kingstown” has become known for its intense story about crime, prisons, power, and politics inside a troubled city. With filming now underway, fans are waiting to see how the story of Mike McClusky and the dangerous world of Kingstown will finally come to an end.
