Reality TV star Chase Chrisley is speaking honestly about one of the hardest periods of his life, and his words are touching many fans. Known for his fun and playful personality on Chrisley Knows Best, Chase recently revealed that things were very different behind the scenes.
Chase shared his story during a deep and emotional conversation with his sister Savannah Chrisley on her Unlocked podcast. In the interview, he described a time while filming the show that he called a “really dark time.”
According to Chase, he was struggling both mentally and emotionally. Savannah said that during this period, her brother looked unhealthy and very thin, and it was painful for the family to watch. Chase admitted that the pressure of filming, combined with personal struggles, pushed him into a dangerous place.
He explained that instead of dealing with stress in a healthy way, he turned to alcohol. Chase said he did not feel cravings exactly, but once he started drinking, he could not stop. This led to behavior he now regrets. He openly admitted that during that time, he became selfish and acted like someone he did not recognize.
One of the most serious moments Chase shared was that his thoughts became so dark that he feared he might not survive. He said he even imagined his family getting a phone call about his death. Hearing this shocked many fans who only saw his smiling face on TV.
Chase said things began to change when he finally sought therapy and later entered rehab in July 2025. After many emotional sessions, he broke down and faced the pain he had been carrying. As of January 2026, Chase shared that he is nearly six months sober.
Now, Chase is focused on healing and rebuilding. He spends more time with family, goes to the gym with his father Todd Chrisley, and has changed his social circle to avoid old habits. He says sobriety is no longer a choice — it is a must.
Chase made it clear that his journey is not over, but he is moving forward one day at a time. His story is a reminder that even reality TV stars face real struggles — and that asking for help can save a life.
