An American post-apocalyptic drama television series The Last Of Us Episode 8 continues after episode 7 and follows Joel hunting to get food and still recovering, Ellie a 14-year-old girl encounters David a preacher, and his fellow hunter James.
Ellie trades her deer for penicillin and revealed who stabbed Joel was a member of his group. Ellie spots David and his men looking for Joel. She tries to distract them but is captured. At David’s camp, they are feeding human flesh.
Joel also tells David’s men about Ellie’s whereabouts. David and James also try to kill Ellie but she kills James and David and escapes. Joel finds Ellie outside the cult’s burning community center.
Speaking to GQ UK, Bella speaks about the process of filming The Last of Us Episode 8, “[Ellie] learns that she really has this capacity for violence and that it’s real, it’s tangible, and that it’s happening. I think she’s always felt violence and rage in her, but she’s never expressed it quite in the way she does at this moment. This is the climax of all of that rage. I think she scares herself with it,”.
“But it’s also such an adrenaline rush she scares herself because it felt good, because it’s so violent, and yet it felt so good, I honestly just think she’s terrified of herself then, and what she did. There’s this moment that I’m glad that I did afterward, in which she takes a second to stare at him, all mangled, and she’s just like: Fuuuu*k. I did that,” she added.

The Last of Us: Where Things Stand After Season 2
Updated July 2026. Bella Ramsey’s Ellie went on to lead HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2, which premiered in April 2025 and adapted some of the game series’ most divisive chapters. HBO renewed the show for Season 3 before Season 2 even aired, and principal photography began in British Columbia in March 2026. A filming pause that June, reportedly tied to local disruptions during the World Cup, briefly fueled cancellation rumors, but Max content chief Casey Bloys confirmed the show is continuing, targeting a 2027 release. Showrunner Craig Mazin is still deciding whether the story wraps in one more season or two.
