Moon Bin a popular K-pop group Astro member is no longer among us and died on April 19, 2023, because of suicide.
Fantagio Music which was Moon’s agency confirmed the death news through their Twitter account in the Korean Language but it reads “On April 19, Moonbin of ASTRO left us suddenly and became a star in the sky. It can’t compare to the grief felt by the loved ones, but fellow ASTRO members and artists and staff of Fantagio are all in enormous grief and sorrow, mourning his loss.”
“Although it cannot compare to the grief of the bereaved family that had to part with their beloved son and brother, his fellow artists and the staff here at Fantagio, who have been together with him for a long time, are also deeply mourning the departed amidst tremendous shock and sorrow,” added to the statement.
“It pains us, even more, to have to convey this sudden news to the fans who have given their unsparing love and support to Moonbin. Because we know all too well just how unparalleled the departed [Moon Bin] was in his love for his fans, whom he was constantly thinking of, the grief is all the more overwhelming.” the statement concluded.

Update: Astro and K-Pop Fans Continue Honoring Moonbin’s Memory
Updated July 2026. Moonbin, who died on April 19, 2023, at age 25, has been remembered by fellow artists on each anniversary since. Bandmate Jinjin released “Fly,” a duet the two had recorded together before Moonbin’s passing, to mark the first anniversary in April 2024. For the second anniversary in April 2025, a wider circle of artists — including Moonbin’s sister Moon Sua, along with members of Seventeen, Stray Kids, and Monsta X — released a joint tribute single, “Memory of the Moon.” Astro has continued performing as a group, with fans and fellow idols keeping Moonbin’s memory present in the group’s ongoing activities.
