Apple Studios new film crews are scheduled to be in County Upper Bucks next week for two-day shoots that will be on alternative roads in Bedminster and Tinicum townships.
It seems that the streamer is in the area for the shooting of “Sinking Spring,” it is an upcoming crime drama series which is directed by Ridley Scott who has also directed The Last Duel, House of Gucci, Alien: Covenant, and Peter Craig, who wrote last year’s blockbuster action sequel “Top Gun: Maverick.”
Last week, PennDOT put out an advisory that a stretch of Route 113 will be closed for filming from Feb. 14-18 and Feb. 21-23.
As per the report from Levittown, the crew members from the series came to the area to do some scouting.
They were looking at Bristol Borough and Bristol Township as a potential backdrop.
People are talking about other locations in Bucks County being used for the series, but nothing is confirmed.
Deadline reported that the series “Sinking Spring” will be based on the novel “Dope Thief” which is written by Philadelphia native Dennis Tafoya.
The cast of “Sinking Spring” include Brian Tyree Henry as Ray, Marin Ireland as Kristy Lynne, Michael Mando as Manny Cespedes, Kate Mulgrew as Theresa Bowers, Scot Teller as Lincoln, Amir Arison as Mark Nader, and many others.

Update: ‘Sinking Spring’ Became Apple TV+’s ‘Dope Thief’ (2025)
Updated July 2026. The Bucks County shoot wrapped, but not without a pause: production halted mid-filming during the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes before resuming in Philadelphia, including scenes at the Franklin Institute. Along the way, the Ridley Scott-produced crime drama got a new name — Dope Thief — and premiered on Apple TV+ on March 14, 2025, starring Brian Tyree Henry and Wagner Moura.
