A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 Filming Hit by Major Flood, Production Forced to Move Again

The filming of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” Season 2 has faced a big problem after a historic flood damaged part of the set in Spain, forcing the team to quickly change locations.

The production had first started in Belfast, Ireland, but later moved to Gran Canaria, Spain to shoot scenes showing a dry and barren land. This setting is very important for the story. However, things did not go as planned.

According to a report by Winter Is Coming, the area in Gran Canaria saw heavy rainfall that had not been recorded in nearly 15 years. The water levels became so high that parts of the filming set were flooded, making it unsafe and impossible to continue shooting there.

The report also shared that a nearby reservoir, Presa de las Niñas, reached unusually high levels. Because of this, some structures built for filming ended up underwater. The crew had no choice but to stop filming and relocate quickly.

In Season 2, the story follows Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk), played by Peter Claffey, and his young squire Egg, played by Dexter Sol Ansell. Dunk begins working for Ser Eustace Osgrey, played by Peter Mullan, in a land suffering from severe drought.

The story becomes intense as they get involved in a land dispute with Lady Rohanne Webber, played by Lucy Boynton. The dry environment is a key part of the plot, showing how even summer in Westeros can be dangerous.

Interestingly, the production moved to Gran Canaria to show a dry landscape, but instead faced unexpected flooding. This has surprised many fans and crew members.

Even though the situation caused trouble, the team has now shifted filming to a drier area on mainland Spain. It is still unclear how much this sudden move will delay the production schedule.

The series is part of the Game of Thrones universe and is highly awaited by fans. While Season 1 is already available on HBO Max, Season 2 is expected to release sometime in 2027.

For now, the main focus is on safety and getting the production back on track after this unexpected weather event.
