After Five Seasons and 171 Million Views, ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ Just Wrapped Its Final Day of Filming

An era is officially over. The Lincoln Lawyer has wrapped production on its fifth and final season, and the goodbyes from the cast and crew have been pouring in ever since.

According to What’s On Netflix, cameras first began rolling on the 10-episode final season on March 2, 2026, with production continuing throughout spring and summer before officially concluding this week. The series now heads into post-production, with a release date yet to be confirmed — though an early 2027 premiere on Netflix appears most likely based on the current timeline.

The Tributes Begin

Co-showrunner and executive producer Dailyn Rodriguez was among the first to mark the milestone publicly, sharing a heartfelt post on social media alongside photos from the writers’ room. She described working on the show as the highlight of her career and expressed confidence that the team had done justice to the story in its final chapter — closing with what may be the most reassuring thing any showrunner can say to anxious fans: that they had successfully “landed the plane.”

Lead actor Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, who plays Mickey Haller, also shared tributes on his Instagram as production wrapped. The standout moment was a video of the cast and crew gathered along the Los Angeles coastline, with Garcia-Rulfo banging a drum as the group rowed in unison — a playful nod to the Norwegian World Cup celebrations that had gone viral during the production period.

Co-showrunner Ted Humphrey also expressed gratitude to fans around the world for following the show’s journey, noting that being given the opportunity to end the story on their own terms — with a “proper and satisfying conclusion” for Mickey Haller — was something they didn’t take for granted.

The Numbers Behind the Show

The weight of those goodbyes becomes clearer when you look at what The Lincoln Lawyer has meant to Netflix since its debut. The series spent an extraordinary 29 weeks on the Netflix Global Top 10 charts across its first four seasons and accumulated over 171 million views since 2023. Its production footprint across Los Angeles has been equally significant — the A+E Studios production reportedly contributed approximately $425 million to the California economy over its run, employed more than 4,300 cast and crew members, and filmed at over 50 iconic locations across the city, including Dodger Stadium and Grand Central Market.

What Happens in Season 5

The final season draws from Michael Connelly’s seventh Lincoln Lawyer novel, Resurrection Walk. Mickey Haller’s world is upended when a half-sister he never knew existed — Emi, played by Cobie Smulders — comes to him seeking help for a wrongfully convicted woman. The case pulls Mickey into a habeas petition to overturn a six-year-old murder conviction, uncovering a dangerous web of corruption and cover-ups along the way.

Six new recurring guest stars join the final season alongside the returning ensemble: Amy Aquino as Judge Olivia Alcott, Angela Trimbur as Felicia, Elpidia Carrillo as Muriel Perez, Nate Corddry as Jimmy Finch, Tricia Helfer as Brooke Miller, and Keir O’Donnell as DDA Lucas Peralta. Returning favorites include Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson, and Neve Campbell.

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5 is currently in post-production and expected to premiere on Netflix in early 2027.
