Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 Gets A Filming Update

Star Luke Grimes addressed the continued delay of Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2. Grimes was seen in the 47 episodes of the series as Kayce Dutton, who is the youngest son of John.

The Season 5 of Yellowstone Part 1 started on November 13, 2022, and ended on January 1, 2023, but the filming for the remaining six episodes of the season has not yet been completed.

In an interview with People, Luke Grimes took place before the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) strike, in which he discussed Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2.

He was able to confirm that the filming would not resume until the end of the Writers Guild, of America (WGA) strike, saying they would “get after it” once it was over.

However, since he made that quote, the actors have also joined the strike with the writers as they fight for fair pay, further complicating the show’s production timeline.

The quote was “We have not [started filming the second half of season 5] because of the writers strike. I think we would be if it weren’t for that. But that takes precedence over everything. They got to get that all sorted, and then we’ll be getting after it.”

Before the strike begins, Part 2 of Yellowstone Season 5 was already experiencing delays. Reportedly, tensions were rising backstage between Costner and Taylor Sheridan.

Costner’s directorial project Horizon: An American Saga also involved scheduling conflicts with the final episode, and it was eventually announced that Costner would leave the series after season 5.
