It is situated in the coast of Viti Levu, the largest island in Fiji. This island is the portion of the Atolls Islands, which are a group of three islets in the Mamanuca Islands.
The island is of volcanic origin, 1.15 kilometers long, and 600 meters wide. Volcanic rocks, lagoons, palm trees, a pine forest, and small white sand beaches are included in the terrain.
After the release of Cast Away, Monuriki became a famous tourist destination. Visitors enjoy this place in the daytime. They reach there by boat or jet ski. This is a very scenic location which offers breathtaking views.
