Updated July 2026. More than three years after a New York court placed Wendy Williams under a restrictive financial guardianship, her legal team is pushing to end it. Her attorney, Joe Tacopina, has said he’s prepared to demand a jury trial if the court resists lifting it. Williams continues to live at Coterie, an assisted-living community reported to cost roughly $25,000 a month, and has spoken publicly about wanting her independence back.
