The series was also shot in “New Mexico” and primarily filmed in and around Santa Fe. Santa Fe is a delightful and ancient city located at an altitude of 7000 feet in the state of New Mexico, USA. Primarily it is in the Sangre de Cristo foothills, New Mexico’s capital.
The Pueblo-style architecture here is famous around the world. Filming of this series uses studio facilities at 1 Santa Fe Studio Road, just outside of Santa Fe.
It was told at the start of filming by Johnson Cortez (Kalion) that “When we shot the pilot, I fell in love with all of the cultures in New Mexico. I’m a Native American, and I’ve been looking forward to exploring more with my family. My kids saw Indian Market in the summer, and it’s been amazing.”
As detailed by Lawrence Kao (Kai) in Disrupt in late October 2022 that “…has existed from shows from before. But we’re jumping on it and adding things to it. Maybe refurbishing some of the structures or making things look more like the town of Independence.”
