After the grand success of The Responder Season 1 in 2022, BBC has brought The Responder Season 2, which is making loads of noise these days because of its unique story and The Responder Season 2 Filming Location.

When and Where The Responder Season 2 Filmed?
The filming started on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023, but when it ended is unknown. The filming took place in the exact location where the first season was shot, in the city of Liverpool.
The Responder Season 2 Filming Locations
Just like season one, the second season of The Responder is also set in Liverpool, England. Filming was commenced on September 5th, 2024.
The Cinematography in the first season was done by Johan Heurlin Aidt and Matthew Lewis, Seemingly these two also shot the second season. James Muirhead worked as the supervising location manager.
Liverpool, England
Like its previous season, this time also, the cast and crew went to Liverpool, England, to shoot the film. This time also they also shot the entire season in the beautiful sites. In all the episodes, you will find Liverpool locations.
The makers and the production company send a letter to the residents of the area to reveal that they are filming in their area.
The letter states, “After a successful and fulfilling relationship with Liverpool during the filming of series one, we are incredibly excited to be returning to the city, and we are looking forward to showcasing more of Merseyside.”
The makers also used the house of a local to shoot the interior scenes of Chris’ home. For filming Chris’ home scenes, the makers used Mike’s, a local residence house.
Mike shared online: “I can actually say Martin Freeman slept in my bed” he added: “They actually bought a new bed which we kept, so maybe I should say I slept in his!”
Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool

Royal Court Theatre is Liverpool’s premier theatre movie theatre, opened on 17 October 1938. Some scenes were also taken from here, the cast and crew used various facilities of the theatres for filming the scenes. The building theatre is the most impressive build. It was opened in 1938.
Strathcona Road, Wavertree
You will see some scenes of Strathcona Road in the series as the filming also took place there. The road is a very neat and clean road with a nice house on the front which is priced at around £86,250 as of last year. The clean roads make a picturesque location that why the makers have captured many scenes for the shooting.
Filming Experiences
MyAnna Buring, who plays Chris’ wife, Kate Carson, spoke about working in Liverpool again by saying, “I love Liverpool, it’s such a great city to work in and it is filled with the loveliest of people and as a city, it has so much to offer. Plus, you are never short of a laugh in Liverpool – the people are just inherently funny there.”
Bernard Hill shared his experience by saying, “Liverpool is one of my favourite places, I’ve got a great relationship with the city. I lived there for a long time and my daughter was born there so it’s like my second home.
“I went down to the Royal Court Theatre during filming on The Responder and I didn’t know what was on so I just went in. The manager came over to where I was sitting and said, ‘what are you doing here?’ I said, “I’m doing a series”, he added, ‘right, well do you want to come and see the show’ and when I looked it was Boys from the Black Stuff.
“I couldn’t believe it! It’s 40 years from when I did Boys From The Black Stuff and there I was back in Liverpool watching it on the stage.”
