‘The Pope’s Exorcist’ Sequel Confirmed, Russell Crowe to Return

Ever since The Pope’s Exorcist was released, fans have been demanding a sequel to The Pope’s Exorcist and now the makers of the film have fulfilled their wish.

This film, which was released in 2023 and was a big hit is ready to bring its next film, Jeff Katz, who produced the first film, today revealed that The Pope’s Exorcist 2 is confirmed.

Yesterday, Snakes on a Plane Producer went to X (formally known as Twitter) to share the news of the sequel. He shared the GIF and wrote the caption,

“Amorth Nation — I just got the call. IT’S OFFICIALLY HAPPENING!!! ‘È un seguito, amici miei.’ [It’s a sequel, my friends.] Thank you to the amazing #ThePopesExorcist fans. You made this happen. Gas up your Lambretta – and get ready to ride,”

After hearing this news, fans of The Pope’s Exorcist were overjoyed as their dream of seeing a sequel is about to be fulfilled. The news of the sequel is rolling on all the platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and more.

Evan Spiliotopoulos will write the story of the second film, who also wrote the stories of Beauty and the Beast (2017), The Unholy (2021), and The Pope’s Exorcist (2023).

The film will be coming under the production of Doug Belgrad, Michael Patrick Kaczmarek, and Jeff Katz. 2.0 Entertainment has taken the rights to produce.

The sequel was announced in April 2023, and today we have got the confirmation from the producer, Jeff.

As per the sources, Russell Crowe is returning to play Father Gabriele Amorth in the sequel, and seemingly Daniel Zovatto, Alex Essoe, and Franco Nero will also join the cast in their respective roles. Like before it is again going to scare everyone.

If we look at the accounts of the previous film, it created havoc in the theaters and grossed more than four times the budget of $18 million, earning $77 million. It also received mixed reviews from the audience.

The film was led by Julius Avery and the screenplay was written by the duo of Michael Petroni and Evan Spiliotopoulos.

The story is, “Inspired by the actual files of Father Gabriele Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican, The Pope’s Exorcist follows Amorth as he investigates a young boy’s terrifying possession and ends up uncovering a centuries-old conspiracy the Vatican has desperately tried to keep hidden,”
