Like Bell Rock, Courthouse Batte is also located in Yavapai County, and is composed of horizontally bedded sedimentary rock of the Permian Supai Formation. The location was also one of the filming locations of the film and the cast and crew filmed in and around the location.

Sedona is a desert town in Arizona near Flagstaff surrounded by red-rock buttes, steep canyon walls, and pine forests. Schnebly Hill and Boynton Canyon in the desert were used to film a few key scenes of the film. The Sedona desert was also used to film some scenes of the film.
