Rita Wilson Laughs at ‘Jingle All the Way’ Mistake as Christmas Classic Turns 30

Rita Wilson is looking back at her holiday hit “Jingle All the Way” as the movie gets ready to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The actress recently spoke about the fan-favourite Christmas film and shared a funny memory from the set.

In an interview with ET’s Deidre Behar, Rita Wilson reflected on filming the 1996 movie in Minnesota alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and the late Phil Hartman.

While talking about the film, Wilson joked about a small but funny detail in the story. In the movie, she plays Liz, the wife of Howard, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Howard secretly dresses up as a superhero called Turbo-Man. However, Liz never seems to notice that her husband looks and sounds exactly like the masked hero — including his very clear Austrian accent.

Laughing about the moment, Wilson pointed out how funny it is that her character could not recognize her own husband, even though he has a strong accent and very noticeable build. She said it is one of those classic movie moments that fans still enjoy today.

The actress also shared warm memories of working with Schwarzenegger and Phil Hartman. She spoke fondly about filming in the cold weather of Minnesota and said the cast had a great time making the holiday comedy.

As the film reaches its 30th anniversary, many fans are revisiting the Christmas favorite. Over the years, “Jingle All the Way” has become a holiday tradition for many families.

During the same interview, Wilson also talked about her upcoming 70th birthday. She reacted with joy and confidence, sharing that she feels grateful and happy at this stage in her life. She even revealed that staying positive and taking care of herself are part of her “radiance” secret.

In addition, Rita Wilson opened up about joining Season 2 of “The Last Thing He Told Me,” which begins streaming on Feb. 20 on Apple TV+. She praised her co-star Jennifer Garner and had kind words for executive producers Reese Witherspoon and author Laura Dave.

With a milestone birthday ahead and a beloved holiday movie celebrating three decades, Rita Wilson is enjoying a season full of memories and new beginnings.
