Olivia Munn has shared a surprising story from one of her past filming experiences, where a scene suddenly stopped because of a disagreement with a male co-star.
During a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, the actress opened up about a tense moment that caused production to pause for nearly 45 minutes.
According to the EW’s reports, she explained that the scene involved an intense action sequence. Her character, who was written as a strong professional like a CIA agent or police officer, was supposed to save her co-star’s character during a dangerous moment.
But things did not go as planned. Speaking on the show, Your Friends & Neighbors star Olivia Munn said that just before filming the scene, her co-star suddenly objected after realizing what was written in the script. He reportedly stopped everything and said he did not want her character to be the one saving his.
The situation quickly became uncomfortable for everyone on set. The actor reportedly argued loudly, saying, “She can’t save me! We’re not doing this!” This reaction caused a full halt in production while the team tried to figure out what to do next.
According to Munn, the co-star even became argumentative with the director, making it harder to move forward with filming.
After nearly an hour of delay, Munn decided to step in and fix the problem herself.
“In an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show,” she explained how she suggested a small change to calm the situation. Instead of saying her character was saving his, she reframed the moment as part of a planned position switch during the fight.
This simple change worked. The co-star agreed, and filming continued. However, Munn pointed out something very interesting — the action in the scene did not actually change at all. The only difference was how the moment was explained to him.
She said the outcome remained the same, but the co-star felt more comfortable after the wording was adjusted.
This is not the first time Olivia Munn has spoken about challenges in the entertainment industry. In earlier interviews, she has also shared experiences where she felt unfairly treated behind the scenes.
Her story gives a clear look at how creative disagreements and ego issues can sometimes slow down film production, even over small details.
Despite the setback, Munn handled the situation calmly and helped get filming back on track — showing both professionalism and quick thinking on set.
