Mrs. Doubtfire Star Lisa Jakub recalled Robin Williams’ Support while Filming

Canadian writer and former actress Lisa Jacob, who starred as Lydia Hillard (child actress) actors in the 1993 film Mrs. Doubtfire, recalls the days of filming and explains Robin Williams’ Sweet Gesture After She Was Expelled from School.

American actor and comedian Robin Williams has played the role of both a man and a woman in the film. Although Good Will Hunting star Robin Williams died on August 11, 2014, at the age of 76, he left a good impression in the hearts of people with the role of Daniel Hillard.

However, it is very little known that he has played the role of a protector on-screen in the ‘1993 hit Mrs. Doubtfire,’ but off-screen too, his style is quite good and merciful because he actually played the role of a protector too.

As per People reports, actress Lisa took part in a new reunion interview with Lawrence’s 1993 hit film castmates Matthew Lawrence and Mara Wilson on Lawrence’s Brotherly Love podcast and reminisced about the time of filming.

And during the conversation 45-year-old star recalled the time when Robin Williams was stuck up for her while filming Mrs. Doubtfire…

The actress worked for about 4 months in Canada, playing the role of Lydia Hillard in the film and she also studied in high school in Canada. She remembered she had worked out a “pre-internet” system in which she “would mail my schoolwork back and forth to the school.”

Sharing her memories of the filming of the 1993 film, she says:-

“We were a couple months into filming, and my school in Canada sent a note saying, you know, ‘This isn’t working for us anymore. Don’t come back,’” “I was devastated.”

“It was just so heartbreaking because, you know, I had this life that was very unusual and that was the one normal thing.”

Robin Williams supported the actress as Lisa was affected by being expelled from school while filming, Explaining her point further the actress says:-

“The thing was, Robin saw that I was upset,”

“He asked me what was going on. I explained. He wrote a letter to my principal saying that he, you know, wanted them to rethink this decision and that I was just trying to pursue my education and my career at the same time and could they please support me in this.”

Lisa further told her former costars that:-

“This principal got the letter, framed the letter, put it up in the office, and didn’t ask me to come back,” “Amazing.”

Recalling the film days, the actress further said:-

“I had been working for a decade when I started Doubtfire, but we had always used a script, right, so I knew when it was my turn to speak and I could say my line,” “And then you go on set with Robin and it’s like, ‘Who the f— knows what’s gonna happen now?’ ”

She added:-

“I had to be present with the other person in the room and I actually had to listen and then just respond wow and it really was so much more meditative than what I had done before, which always felt really rote in, like, ‘I know what’s going to happen.’ ”

“And all of a sudden you know we’re on set and you’re like, ‘I am so lost,’ but you know you’re just going to go with it,” “because he’s Robin and you can trust him.”

The actress shared a letter on her Social Media account Instagram yesterday which you can see here:-
