Exciting news!! For fans of Jim Bergerac and the Bergerac series, the Bergerac reboot is coming soon, and recently, the latest update related to the filming of the Modern-Day Bergerac has come out.
All who are interested in “filming news!” take a look here also; this Summer season, the Bergerac reboot is to begin filming in New Jersey. The upcoming detective drama Bergerac Reboot has been awarded a Greenlight for filming.
As per BBC reports, Recently, Broadcaster UKTV Announced that the Bergerac reboot “modern re-imagining” show will be released in the year 2025 with 6 episodes, On which the government also added:-
“it was still considering investing “significant amounts of public money” into it.”
UKTV has confirmed Jersey is also one of the filming locations of the upcoming series Bergerac, and also revealing that:- “it honors the iconic detective drama but with a contemporary twist.”
For the return of Bergerac, writer Toby Whitehouse said:-
“it was a “rare honour” to bring back a show as “iconic as Bergerac””
“We’ll be bringing back other beloved supporting characters, as well as introducing new friends and foes.”
“Just like his predecessor, our Bergerac is complex, driven, brilliant and flawed.”
Original Series star John Nettles said:-
“the show’s revival was a “good thing for Jersey” and he wished those involved “well with the venture””
“[I] can’t remember how many times a re-boot has been planned, but this UKTV ‘re-imagined’ series looks as if it will actually make it to the screen.”
Previously £1.8 million was sought from the Government of Jersey for the filming of the Bergerac reboot.
Jersey Chief Minister Landon Farnham, while discussing the filming investment for the series in February, said:-
“The investment was “being considered”, but would need to go to the Council of Ministers.”
Meanwhile, Jersey’s Minister of Sustainable Economic Development, Deputy Kirsten Morrell, said she was pleased with the filming announcement.
He further added:-
“Government officers have been working closely with Visit Jersey and industry experts to assess the Bergerac project and its potential for an investment of significant amounts of public money.”
“This work is ongoing but we are pleased to see that the producers and TV channel have announced today that they are committed to producing the Bergerac remake.”
This Drama series is expected to be released in 2025 and also be available to stream on UKTV Play.
