Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning under the working title Libra started filming on February 20, 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy, production stopped and on Sep 6, 2020, the filming resumed.
📍Norway
Norway is a Nordic country in Northern Europe and Hellesylt is a small village that lies at the head of the Sunnylvsfjorden in Stranda Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county within Norway the cast and crew resumed the shoot in September 2020 and the iconic motorcycle jump was filmed here.
Tom Cruise shared the filming of the scenes on his Instagram account and captioned it “So excited to share what we’ve been working on. #MissionImpossible”.
In October 2020 the cast and crew traveled in and around Norway and the previous installment was filmed in Preikestolen which also includes the municipalities of Stranda and Rauma so the production also used this location to film a few scenes of the film. Tom Cruise was also spotted filming an action scene with Esai Morales at the top of a train.

The production crew also filmed in different places in Norway which includes Åndalsnes a town in Rauma Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county. Some scenes of the Train sequence are filmed here.
📍Rome, Lazio, Italy
Rome is the capital city of Italy and the center of the Metropolitan City of Rome. Rome is another filming location for the film and we can see Rome briefly in the film and many scenes of the movie were filmed in Rome.
On October 26, 2020, the production team stopped in Italy after 12 people tested positive for COVID-19 on set but the filming resumed a week later.

Longcross Film Studios is a production studio in Longcross approximately 25 miles west of central London and the studio includes four main sound stages, eight “meganova” sound stages, and 200 acres of backlot. The cast and crew filmed some of the interior scenes of the film in the studio.

Grand Central is a shopping center above the New Street railway station in Birmingham. In August 2021 the cast and crew moved to Birmingham and filmed at the city’s Grand Central shopping center and the locals spotted Cruise and Atwell filing in the Shopping Center.

Stoney Middleton is a small village and civil parish in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, which is in the country of England. Some scenes of the Train Crash sequence are shot here.
📍Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The film was mainly filmed in Liwa Oasis, Abu Dhabi which is situated on the northern edge of the great Rub’ Al Khali desert known as the Empty Quarter. Parts of the Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One series were also filmed in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
