Jumanji Sequel Gets Update Cast Schedules Blamed for Delay

The upcoming installment of the Jumanji franchise is still in the works, according to Karen Gillan, Scottish actress and film producer.

The highly anticipated sequel to Jumanji, the fourth part of the fan-favorite franchise, is still in the works. In March 2022, director Jake Kasdan confirmed the highly anticipated sequel.

Recently, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Karen, who also plays the lead role in Guardians of the Galaxy actress Gillan, talked about her future project.

She took the blame for the film being stuck in development hell., “If you find out, please let me know. Because I don’t know.”

She explained, “I’m sure it’s tricky to wrangle everyone’s schedules, but I haven’t heard anything about it other than that we will be doing it at some point. So we’re all so enthusiastic about it. We all love working on those films, and it’s just a matter of when.”

Its two reboots, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level, star Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black, with some other cast members including Alex Wolfe, SerDarius Blain, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, and Nick Jonas.

It hasn’t been updated for years, but Gillan owns it. “I’m sure it’s tricky to wrangle everyone’s schedules, but I haven’t heard anything about it other than that we will be doing it at some point. So, we’re all so enthusiastic about it.

She added We all love working on those films, and it’s just a matter of when.”

You can check out the other three Jumanji movies that are available to stream on Hulu.

In December 2019, a new installment was added with plot details: the film will explore who is playing the character.

In March 2022, director Jake Kasdan, the lead actor in the previous two films, will return. Kasdan is prioritizing the next Jumanji film after finishing 2024’s Red One, but he has no further production dates.

Karen Gillan has several other projects from Jumanji 4, Rona Who Lives by the River, which will be released on Disney+, and the other Our-Part miniseries, Douglas Is Canceled, created by Doctor Who’s Steven Moffat.
