As per Variety reports, On February 29, James made a big revelation that the filming of his new film “Superman” would begin. He also said that the title of the film has now been changed from Superman: Legacy to “Superman.”

While sharing a picture of his version of the Superman costume on his Instagram account, Gunn wrote in the caption:-

“Overjoyed to be announcing the start of principal photography on SUPERMAN today, February 29, which just so happens to be – coincidentally and unplanned – Superman’s birthday,”

He further added:-

“When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film ‘Superman: Legacy.’ By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was SUPERMAN,” “Making our way to you July 2025.”

Before this, Due to Friday’s Q4 earnings call, David Zaslav has announced that shooting for the new superhero film Superman: Legacy will begin next week in February 2024.

Not long ago, James Gunn posted a photo with the cast of Superman: Legacy on his official Instagram account and gave a hint to start filming, Which you can see below:-

After which he reposted the DC official‘s post and hinted at a full dive into the early pre-production of the Superman: Legacy film:-

Rachel Brosnahan, who will star as Lois Lane in the “Superman” film, spoke to Variety at the SAG Awards, saying it was romantic for her to hear Gunn’s words after a table reading of the script in Atlanta.

She said:-

“It was pretty amazing,”

“Some of us met for the first time. Some of us got to see each other again. It was amazing to hear the script out loud. As with all of these films, there’s a lot of action sequences and things. So to hear the pacing of the film and to get to hear these characters occupied by the actors who play them is really fun. It’s also a great group. You can’t ask for more than that when doing something like this.”

“I have always loved Lois Lane,”

“She’s smart, ambitious and can be funny. She knows she’s the smartest person in the room more often than not. When the opportunity came on…I’m such a fan of James Gunn from afar…we’re still finding these characters. We haven’t started shooting yet. You’ll meet the final version of them.”

“Superman: Legacy” Now Superman is an Action, Adventure, and Fantasy film that is expected to be released on July 11, 2025, in the United States. The film stars include Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, and Milly Alcock.
