Isla Fisher Remembers Filming Wedding Crashers and Calls Christopher Walken an “Inspiring” Costar

More than 20 years after the hit comedy Wedding Crashers was released, Isla Fisher is looking back at her time on the set and sharing special memories about working with Christopher Walken.

Playdate star recently spoke about the film while attending the TIME 2026 Women of the Year Gala at The West Hollywood EDITION in West Hollywood, California, on March 10, 2026. During the event, Fisher talked about what it was like filming the 2005 comedy and the cast member who made the biggest impression on her.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Isla Fisher said that one of her favorite memories from filming Wedding Crashers was her connection with Christopher Walken, who played her father in the movie.

Fisher explained that Walken left a strong impression on her while they were working together on set.

“He was just so inspiring,” Fisher said while recalling their time filming the movie.

She also remembered a conversation that stayed with her over the years. According to Fisher, Christopher Walken once shared a thought about leadership and equality that she found memorable.

The actress said she recalled him saying that there might be fewer world wars if women held more positions of power. Fisher said the moment showed her what kind of person Walken was.

She added that she always thought he was “such a great guy.”

In Wedding Crashers, Isla Fisher played one of the daughters of Christopher Walken’s character. The comedy followed two friends who sneak into weddings to meet women, which leads to several unexpected situations.

The film starred a well-known cast including Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Jane Seymour, Bradley Cooper, and Isla Fisher.

Even after two decades, the movie is still remembered as one of the popular comedy films of the mid-2000s.

During the conversation, Fisher was also asked if a sequel to Wedding Crashers could happen in the future.

The actress said she has not heard any confirmed plans yet, but she did not rule out the possibility.

“Not that I’m aware of, but maybe there will be. Who knows?” Fisher said.

The idea of continuing the story has come up before. In 2024, Vince Vaughn spoke about the possibility during an interview on Good Morning America.

According to Vaughn, the cast had fun making the original movie, and discussions about a sequel have happened in the past.

However, he explained that the most important thing would be finding the right story that makes sense for the characters after so many years.

Vaughn said that if the creators come up with a story that feels fresh and interesting, a return to the world of Wedding Crashers could still happen someday.

For now, fans continue to remember the film for its funny moments, memorable characters, and the strong chemistry between its cast during filming.
