HBO’s Succession will be Ending With Season 4

The American satirical black comedydrama television series Succession by Jesse Armstrong. Jesse Armstrong had been giving signs to the fans of ending the series in the past also and mentioning that he preferred for the story to “go out sort of strong” instead of dragging production to the fifth season.

In an interview with The New Yorke, Jeremy Strong when asked about the possibility of Succession reaching its conclusion, Jeremy said leaving the role of Kendall Roy would “feel like death, in a way,”.

He added “I feel a responsibility to the viewership, and I personally wouldn’t like the feeling of, “Oh, that’s it, guys. That was the end.” I wouldn’t like that in a show. I think I would like to know it is coming to an end.”

The series has aired a total of 3 seasons and they will return again for season four on Sunday, March 26, 2023, by Warner Bros. Television Distribution. The season will pick up where it left off after patriarch Logan Roy who is played by Brian Cox betrayed his adult kids including Siobhan, Roman, and Kendall.

Succession Update (2026)

Updated July 2026. Succession closed out its fourth and final season on May 28, 2023, exactly as creator Jesse Armstrong intended — he’d said for years he preferred the show to “go out sort of strong” rather than stretch to a fifth season. That final season swept six Emmys, including best drama series, lead actor for Kieran Culkin, lead actress for Sarah Snook, and supporting actor for Matthew Macfadyen. The cast’s momentum has continued well past the finale: Culkin went on to win the 2025 Best Supporting Actor Oscar for A Real Pain, while Snook won a Tony Award for her one-woman Sunset Boulevard on Broadway. No spin-off or revival has been discussed — Armstrong has maintained the story ended where it should.
