Oscar winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph, French cinema icon Juliette Binoche, and rising Italian star Anna Ferzetti are set to receive top honors at the 11th edition of Filming Italy Los Angeles, a major cultural event that brings Italian cinema and Hollywood together. The event will take place from February 10 to February 14 and will welcome several well-known names from the global film industry.
This year’s celebration continues the mission of Filming Italy Los Angeles, which is known for building strong creative links between Italy and the United States. The event is led by Tiziana Rocca, a well-known Italian film promoter and marketing expert, who also heads the Taormina Film Festival.
Anna Ferzetti, who stars in Paolo Sorrentino’s upcoming film “La Grazia”, has been named this year’s official ambassador. She has had a strong year with major roles in Ferzan Ozpetek’s hit film “Diamonds” and the popular generational comedy “Classmates.” Speaking to Variety, Rocca praised Ferzetti’s recent work, saying that the actress is shining across many different types of roles.
Along with receiving her honor, Juliette Binoche will also present her directorial debut, titled “In-I In Motion.” The film follows her personal and emotional journey while co-creating and performing a dance project with famous British choreographer Akram Khan. The project focuses on movement, healing, and creative expression.
Several other notable film personalities are expected to attend the event. These include artist and filmmaker Julian Schnabel, Oscar-nominated casting director Francine Maisler, “Emily in Paris” actor Samuel Arnold, action star Dolph Lundgren, and Oscar-nominated costume designer Miyako Bellizzi.
Veteran Italian actor Franco Nero will also be honored during the event. He is best known worldwide for his role in Sergio Corbucci’s 1966 classic “Django.” Filming Italy has played a key role in supporting Nero’s upcoming Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony scheduled for February 12.
A special Franco Nero retrospective will be part of the tribute, including a screening of “The Matteotti Murder,” a powerful political drama about the 1924 assassination of Italian leader Giacomo Matteotti.
The festival will also showcase new Italian films such as Checco Zalone’s blockbuster comedy “Buen Camino,” now Italy’s highest-grossing film ever, and Paolo Genovese’s concept comedy “Madly.” Together, these screenings highlight the strong global presence of modern Italian cinema.
