Outlander Season 8 Filming Underway Update: Here are the Behind-The-Scenes
Recently, Outlander series executive producer EP Maril Davis shared a new filming Update for Outlander 8th season on the Outlander show’s official Instagram page, Outlander_starz, which you can see here:-
While sharing the behind-the-scenes photo of Outlander Season 8, executive producer Merrill Davis wrote in the caption:
“Soaking in the moments before filming begins on #Outlander Season 8… no matter the weather!”
In addition to the selfie of Davis and Balfe, the post also includes a photo of co-lead Sam Heughan, who appeared to be in the middle of a workout session as he prepared to play Jamie Fraser for the last time.
For your information, Davis also shared the image on her Instagram story and gave more details and wrote, “Rain Rain goes away… Season 8 (filming) is on its way!”
Poetically gave a filming update for Outlander season 8, Davis confirming that filming will begin soon, increasing the audience’s excitement for this series.
Production on the show’s prequel spinoff Outlander: Blood of My Blood also began earlier this year.

Outlander Season 8 Update (2026)
Updated August 2026. The behind-the-scenes filming captured in this post led into Outlander’s eighth and final season, which premiered March 6, 2026 on Starz and wrapped its ten-episode run on May 15, 2026, bringing Claire and Jamie Fraser’s story to a close after more than a decade on air. Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan reprised their roles through the finale. The Droughtlander wait wasn’t as long as usual thanks to the prequel spinoff Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which had already premiered in 2025 and expanded the world with the story of Jamie’s and Claire’s parents. Starz has not announced further Outlander-universe projects beyond the spinoff’s already-confirmed second season.
