The New Mexico Film Office announced the upcoming feature film “Honey Don’t!” which is scheduled to be filmed in May. The film will start filming in and around Albuquerque around May.
The film stars include Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza, and Chris Evans. The story of the film will present a detective who is searching for a woman death and the secrets surrounding her.
As per the office, the film will feature 600 New Mexicans, 150 crew members, 15 lead actors, and 450 background talent.
Honey Don’t will be produced by Coen, Robert Graf, Tricia Cooke, Eric Fellner, and Tim Bevan. It will be directed by the Academy Award-winning Ethan Coen.
Graf said in a statement, “New Mexico holds a special place with the producers, and we’re ecstatic to film our fifth feature here.”

Honey Don’t! Update (2026)
Updated August 2026. The Albuquerque shoot became “Honey Don’t!,” which opened in U.S. theaters on August 22, 2025 through Focus Features. Directed by Ethan Coen and co-written with Tricia Cooke, the dark comedy stars Margaret Qualley as a small-town private investigator digging into a string of strange deaths tied to a local church, with Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans rounding out the cast. It’s the second film in Coen and Cooke’s loosely connected “lesbian B-movie trilogy,” following 2024’s Drive-Away Dolls.
