The film American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes was directed by Matt Braine who is known for is known for WWE films some of his known films are WWE 24 in 2015, and WWE Evil in 2022.

The film is executively produced by Chris Chambers, Kevin Dunn, Ben Houser, Chris Kaiser, Vince McMahon, and Cody Rhodes himself.

In an interview with People, Cody opens up on the Scary Experience of filming a new documentary on July 26, 2023.

He said, “Filming the documentary was scary. Opening up and letting the world see the real you, and see the road I’m traveling has had wonderful success, but many failures as well. Failure is a wonderful teacher.”

In addition to his in-ring career, Cody Rhodes also focuses on his relationship with his father Dusty, a former AEW EVP. The death of the American Dream in 2015 was a big reason for Cody’s decision to leave WWE and make a name for himself elsewhere.

The film was released on 31, July 2023 on the streaming channel Peacock.
