According to the people, the pop star and actor spoke honestly during a special screening and Q&A for the film held on February 3 at Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn. During the event, Charli xcx talked about her favourite moments on set and did not hold back when the topic turned to Kylie Jenner’s cameo.
In The Moment, Kylie Jenner, 28, appears as a fictional version of herself. The movie is inspired by the massive attention around Charli’s real-life album Brat and takes a sharp, funny look at fame, image, and public pressure.
Kylie’s short appearance has already earned strong praise online for her natural screen presence and surprisingly sharp comic timing.
Speaking during the Q&A, Charli xcx, 33, explained that filming with Kylie felt very different from the rest of the shoot. She revealed that the movie’s first scene was filmed with Rachel Sennott, while the final day of filming was reserved for Kylie Jenner.

The cameo has not gone unnoticed. A Vulture review even called Kylie “legitimately fantastic” in the film. Critics noted how she delivered over-the-top lines without sounding forced, holding her own alongside cast members like Rachel Sennott, Kate Berlant, Rosanna Arquette, and Alexander Skarsgård.
The film also marks a major milestone for Charli xcx, as The Moment is her first leading movie role. During the Q&A, she explained that the story reflects real emotions she experienced during her career. She said many moments in the film could have happened in her own life if she had made different choices.
Charli xcx spoke openly about how sudden fame can change how people see you—and how that confusion can affect your mental state. She added humor to the moment by joking that some chaotic scenes in the film were not much of a stretch from real life.
The Moment is now playing in select theaters and will open everywhere on February 6, bringing audiences a sharp, honest look at fame—plus one very memorable Kylie Jenner cameo.
