According to hudsonvalley.news reports, Presently, the filming of The Savant is in development and it was filmed in the village of Sleepy Hollow in New York State.
On Thursday night, March 20, 2024, film crews headed north and southbound on Route 9 in Sleepy Hollow to film driving scenes for Apple TV’s The Savant series.
Filming of Apple TV’s Savant continued on Route 9 in Sleepy Hollow until midnight on March 20.
During the filming of the driving scenes for the film, Drivers were advised to avoid the area between Sleepy Hollow High School and the Guadalajara Restaurant, located just north of Phelps Hospital.
There is no official mention of the release date of The Savant series, but it is directed by “Matthew Heineman” and it is scripted by Melissa James Gibson and Andrea Stanley.
The official summary of the film by IMDB is “Follows the Savant, a top-secret investigator who infiltrates internet hate organizations to bring down the nation’s most violent men.”
Apart from this, the story of The Savant film is based on a story by Andrea Stanley.

The Savant Update (2026)
Updated August 2026. After a long delay tied to concerns over its sensitive subject matter, Apple TV+ has confirmed The Savant will premiere in July 2026. The eight-episode miniseries stars Jessica Chastain as an operative who infiltrates online hate groups to help prevent real-world violence before it happens, and is directed by Matthew Heineman based on a 2019 investigative report. The show was originally set to begin airing in September 2025, but was pulled amid sensitivities following the assassination of political commentator Charlie Kirk. Chastain publicly said she was “not aligned” with the delay before Apple confirmed the series would finally reach viewers this summer. The Sleepy Hollow driving sequences featured in early filming remain part of the finished series.
