Adultery Filming Locations (2026-)

Published

Adultery is a 2026 romance drama series from ITV, made by Poison Pen Studios. It is created and written by Danny Brocklehurst, the writer behind Fool Me Once and Brassic. Will Sinclair directs episodes one to three, and Daniel O’Hara directs episodes four to six.

The main cast includes Dominic Cooper, Romola Garai, Shelley Conn and Matthew McNulty, with Johnny Sanpher, Leila Khan, Andrew Knott, James Murray and Charley Webb. The series was filmed in Greater Manchester and Lancashire, with a few shots in Cumbria.

Tom and Beth meet by chance, and a spark turns into an affair. Their teenage children, Jess and Ollie, are already dating, so both families are pulled into the mess. Brocklehurst has called it a “grown-up drama about family and love and marriage.”

Adultery premiered on ITV1 and STV on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 9pm. It has six episodes of about an hour each. New episodes air on Sunday and Monday nights, and all six are on ITVX and STV Player, according to Hello Rayo.

Darwen is the main Lancashire location, and IMDb also lists it as the filming location. TV Guide says locals saw the cast filming at The Bridgewater Pub on Church Street, and that the production used Bank Street and Church Bank Street. In episode 5, Tom and Beth meet in Darwen’s Market Square. It has a curved layout and a woven copper falcon sculpture.

Crews filmed in the village of Hoddlesden on a Tuesday, and Long Hey Lane was closed at its junction with Jackson Heights from 6:30am to 5:30pm for the shoot.

Visiting: Please keep to public roads and do not disturb residents.

📍Firwood Fold, Bolton

Firwood Fold is a small historic hamlet in Bolton, beside Bradshaw Brook. TV Guide says the production filmed inside a house next to the cottages where inventor Samuel Crompton was born. On screen, the hamlet stands in for the Lake District.

Visiting: Since the houses are private, please check before visiting and do not enter any property.

📍Honister Pass, Lake District

Honister Pass is a winding road in the Lake District National Park, between Buttermere and Borrowdale. It appears in aerial views in the series. The crew did not film the house scenes there, as those were shot in Firwood Fold.

Visiting: It is a public mountain road, so please check the weather and road conditions before driving.

📍Heaton Norris and Heaton Moor, Stockport

The main residential scenes were filmed in Heaton Norris, a suburb of Stockport, and that includes Tom and Hannah’s house with its big garden. In episode 5, Beth meets Hannah for a drink at Nook Cafe on Heaton Moor Road in Heaton Moor.

Visiting: Since the house is private, please do not visit it. Nook Cafe is a working business, so please check its hours.

📍Manchester City Centre

Hannah and Tom have dinner at Australasia, a basement restaurant in Spinningfields. In episode 4, the crew filmed outside and inside Manchester Crown Court in Crown Square, for the scenes about Neil’s trial. Our England page lists more productions shot across the country.

Visiting: The restaurant is a business and the court is a working building, so please check before visiting.

📍Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool

In episode 1, Jess and Ollie skip school and go to Blackpool. The crew filmed at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, where the teenagers ride the Big Dipper and the Icon roller coaster. They later walk along the beach, with Central Pier’s Big Wheel and Blackpool Tower in the background.

Visiting: The beach and pier are public. The Pleasure Beach is a ticketed park, so please check opening times.

📍Other Areas of Greater Manchester

Hello Rayo also lists Altrincham, and TV Guide mentions Lomond Drive, a cul-de-sac in Bury, as a street used in the series. A scene near a lake is said to be in East Lancashire, but we could not confirm the exact lake.

Adultery Behind the Scenes

To make your search for Adultery filming even more interesting, here is what the team has shared so far. Danny Brocklehurst comes from Manchester, which explains why the series stays in the North West. ITV’s Director of Drama, Polly Hill, commissioned it, and it was the first commission for Poison Pen Studios.

Fun fact: Romola Garai also stars in ITV’s spy drama Betrayal earlier this year, which was shot in Manchester, Liverpool and Chester. If you like British crime dramas on ITV, our guide to The Blame is a good next read. The Party and Winter are two more ITV series in our guides.

We will add more cast and crew Instagram posts and set photos here as soon as they are shared.
