A Season of Promises is a 2026 Christmas romance comedy movie from Hallmark Channel, part of its Countdown to Christmas lineup. It is directed by Stacey N. Harding and written by Michael Grimm. It stars Brooke D’Orsay as Heidi, Ali Liebert as Sophie and James Denton as their father, Ed. The cast also includes Kate Dion, Matthew James Dowden, Catherine Lough Haggquist, Jill Morrison and Jacob Turner. It was filmed in British Columbia, mainly in Greater Vancouver.
Heidi and Sophie are sisters who could not be more different. Heidi is buttoned-up and chasing a play-by-play job with the local pro hockey team, while Sophie waits tables and tries to make it in stand-up comedy. A rift after their mother’s death pulled them apart, but they both love their father. When Ed has a fainting episode and ends up in the hospital, the sisters team up to find him a date by Christmas, to fulfil their late mother’s final wish.
A Season of Promises premiered on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel, and it streams on Hallmark+ the next day, according to Girls Gone Hallmark.
