Filming for Merry Berry Love started in September 2025. The crew wrapped up in March 2026, so the shoot went on for about six months. The team worked in both Japan and South Korea. Japan gives the story its island setting, and South Korea covers the Korean side of the main character’s life.
📍Japan
Most of the story’s heart sits in Japan. Karin is a Japanese farmer, and the love story grows on a faraway island. That is why the Japanese scenes matter so much. Strawberry fields, sea views, and small-town life give the series its warm, sweet mood. The makers have not shared the exact island or town yet, so we cannot name it without guessing.
If you enjoy Japanese scenery in Korean dramas, you may also like the coastal walks of Kamakura and Enoshima in Can This Love Be Translated?. For a very different mood in Japan, there is the busy city side of Tokyo Vice Season 2.
📍South Korea
The second filming country is South Korea. Yu-bin comes from Korea, and Ji Chang-wook plays him, so the shoot also took place there. These scenes show his life before the island, when work was everything to him. They also make a nice contrast with the slow, quiet days in Japan. The exact Korean cities and buildings have not been confirmed yet.

Merry Berry Love Behind the Scenes
Shooting in two countries was not easy, but the cast seems to have had fun. Mio Imada reportedly fell a few times while filming running scenes, including a chase scene that was hard on her body.
The two leads also helped each other with language. Ji Chang-wook said that he and Mio taught each other their Korean and Japanese lines. Since the show is spoken in two languages, that must have been a big help on set.
We will add more behind-the-scenes photos and cast posts as soon as they come out.
