Philadelphia locals heading to Wissahickon Valley Park this week will find more than the usual hiking trails and quiet creek paths — HBO’s Task has arrived for a full week of Season 2 filming, and visitors should know what to expect before they go.
Production crews for the Mark Ruffalo-led crime drama are scheduled to film at the park from Monday, August 3 through Friday, August 7, according to a detailed schedule shared by Friends of the Wissahickon on social media, as reported by NBC Philadelphia. The park will remain open throughout the week, but several specific closures and access changes are in effect.

Day-by-Day Breakdown
On Monday, August 3, the Bells Mill West Lot will be closed entirely to the public, reopening the following day. Visitors arriving by car are directed to use the Bells Mill East Lot as an alternative during that time.
On Tuesday, August 4 and Wednesday, August 5, the trail entrance at Manatawna Avenue will be inaccessible. Those looking to reach Houston Meadow are advised to use either the Houston Playground entrance or the Yellow Trail as an alternative route.
Throughout the entire week, production vehicles and equipment will be stationed in various sections of Forbidden Drive — one of the park’s most popular stretches. Forbidden Drive itself will remain open to the public, but visitors should anticipate encountering film crews and should follow all posted production signage, including warnings about “equipment ahead” and “slow ahead” zones.
