Filming for Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has been postponed following the heartbreaking death of Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Cosby Jr.
According to a report by TMZ, production on the popular Bravo reality series had not officially started when the tragedy happened. The outlet shared the update in an exclusive report published on February 25, 2026. More details were first reported by TMZ.
Sources connected to the show told TMZ that Season 7 was still in pre-preproduction. Cameras had not started rolling yet. Filming was expected to begin this week. However, plans were suddenly changed after Robert Jr.’s passing. Production has now been delayed as the cast and crew process the loss.
Even though the show was not filming at the time, insiders believe this tragic event will likely become a major storyline in the upcoming season. The series often follows the real-life struggles of its cast members, and this loss has deeply affected Mary and her family.
Earlier this week, officers from the Salt Lake City Police Department responded to a call about a “full arrest / medical emergency.” The call involved a 23-year-old male and came in around 6:13 PM on Monday. Fire department officials and paramedics also arrived at the scene. Sadly, Robert Jr. was found dead at the scene.
Robert had faced several challenges in recent months. In September 2025, he was arrested for trespassing and assault. A few months later, his wife, Alexiana Smokoff, filed for divorce. Those close to the family say it had been a difficult time leading up to his death.
As of now, Bravo has not announced a new filming start date for Season 7. Fans of the show are sending messages of support to Mary Cosby during this painful time.
The delay marks a serious and emotional moment for the reality series, which has followed Mary’s life both on and off screen since she joined the cast.
