Bad Boys 2 stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence recall filming ‘Reggie’ scene

Your favorite bad boys, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, are returning to the cinema in June 2024 with their new Bad Boys Movie, “Bad Boys: Ride or Die.” The acting of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence was highly appreciated in the Bad Boys film Series.

Bad Boys is a series of American buddy cop action comedy films which is very much liked among people. You can gauge the success of the Bad Boys franchise from the 4 films that have been included so far.

Nearly a month after filming wrapped on Bad Boys: Ride or Die, the film’s actors recently shared their experiences while filming their Second Bad Boys film.

The first film, Bad Boys, was released in the year 1995, and the second film came after about 7 years in the year 2003.

Reminiscing about the filming of 2003’s Bad Boys 2, Detective Mike Laurey (Will Smith) and Detective Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) talk about their relationship with Reggie Scene.

As the fourth film is on its way to release so Bad Boys actors watched the previous installment of the film and had the famous reggae scene from Bad Boy 2 in front of them. Both friends remembered the filming of the extraordinary scene, after which one of them said, “Now, I understand why it’s so perfect.”

Actors poke fun at their days in their first film while watching previous installments, In which Lawrence talks about his thin arms while Smith talks about his belt.

Smith said as he reflected on his old Bad Boys days in the Sony Pictures clip, which you can watch in the Instagram post below:-

Explaining their Minimum acting experience, Smith said:-

“[Dennis Greene], he wasn’t an actor. And he didn’t know, because we were ad-libbing the whole scene. So, because he wasn’t an actor, Michael Bay wanted us to like, you know, rile him up a little bit. So, we were pretending like we were mad.”

After that, Lawrence added:-

“… We were in a confrontation, arguing with each other over something.”

Dismissing Green’s unrehearsed response, Will Smith says:-

“That look on his face is real. That’s real live nervousness right there. He was nervous for real.”

You will be surprised to know that the Reggie actor had not acted before doing the entire scene from a different perspective.

The actor said watching scenes from his films after 20 years was eye-opening, as per cinemablend Reports, Smith said in the clip:-

“It’s still just as funny and cringy as I remember. I could tell Greene wasn’t used to ad-libbing or improvising on a set. He came off as timid and unsure of himself in his first movie.

He must’ve been overwhelmed trying to figure out where to jump in as these two Hollywood stars volley quips back and forth at the character’s expense. It’s one of those scenes that still strikes fear in my inner teenage boy, especially when meeting the family for the first time.”
