The Trugoy the Dove and Dave whose real name was David Jude is no more among us and the news was first reported by AllHipHop. Obit Trugoy the Dove, co-founder of De La Soul dead at 54.

Trugoy had been very open about his health with his fans and also informed them about congestive heart failure in recent years and living with a LifeVest machine affixed. He was part of De La Soul as the hip-hop tribute at the Grammy Awards 2023 last week, but Trugoy was not onstage for the grammy with his fellow bandmates.

De La Soul was famous particularly in the early Nineties they use to represent a fun balance to the then-burgeoning gangsta rap scene. Trugoy representative Tony Ferguson also confirmed the news of his death on Sunday.

Big Daddy Kane rapper on his Instagram paid tribute “Dave! It was an honor to share so many stages with you,”.

Rapper Erik Sermon also posted a tribute on Instagram “This one hurts. From Long Island from one of the best rap groups in Hiphop # Delasoul #plug2 Dave has passed away you will be missed… RIP.”
