Yellowstone Season 5 Resumes Filming Amid Kevin Costner’s Departure

Yellowstone Season 5: The second half of season five of Yellowstone will begin shooting in the late spring of 2024, Deadline reports.

The strike is coming to an end, with all production starting back up as soon as possible, these days bring hope as filming dates for other series including The Last of Us and Criminal Minds: Evolution.

The outlet noted, “This is a logical start of production target given the fact that the popular series from Taylor Sheridan shoots largely outdoors in Montana and would need to wait for the winter to be over,”.

According to the Report of Deadline, “there are no plans for Yellowstone star Kevin Costner to return for the series’ final chapter.” Though writer Nellie Andreeva admitted that “anything is possible.”

Additionally, Costner confirmed that he would be leaving the show after season five in May.

However, many of the upcoming series under Sheridan’s Western helm would top with Yellowstone ending in the final season.

It was revealed in September Child Support material about splitting season five into two parts that it was a “long, hard-fought negotiation” that led Yellowstone to its decision.

It is to be released alongside his own Western epic, two-part film series Horizon: An American Saga, a “passion project” that famously took hostage, proving too difficult to pull off.

With the fallout affecting much of the production, the cast of “Yellowstone” devised several back-to-work scenarios while the labor dispute was resolved.

The series cast includes Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Jefferson White, Danny Huston, Gil Birmingham, Forrie J. Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Ryan Bingham, Wendy Moniz, Jennifer Landon, Kathryn Kelly and Moses Brings Plenty among others.
