The Walking Dead” Spin-Offs Set to Resume Filming After Strike Deal Reached

Here is exciting news for The Walking Dead fans The Walking Dead spin-off will be permitted to continue filming amid the existing actor and writer strike.

Deadline shared the news that AMC Network had the deal with SAG-AFTRA interim settlement, allowing three productions that were formally halted to resume. This deal indicates that AMC Networks has approved all of the terms that SAG-AFTRA is currently proposing.

The direct deal with Union will also allow Interview with a Vampire to begin shooting its second season for AMC.

As per reports, AMC has signed a waiver specifically for these three shows instead of an overall deal for all the various content of the channel.

The deal indicates that the production team of Daryl Dixon will soon be back in Europe to work on season two, while the majority of work on The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will be in post-production. There would be no writing, as this would require a separate agreement with the WGA.

This news comes when the CEO of AMC Networks, Kristin Dolan recently suggested that the strike would not actually delay the premiere dates of both new Walking Dead shows.

Via Deadline, Dolan told Wall Street, analysts, in an earnings call that “We greatly value the work of our creative partners and hope these disputes can be resolved as quickly and fairly as possible,”.

“In the short term, the reality for AMC Networks is that we have a pipeline of finished shows that will allow us to continue to serve our viewers across all of our platforms for the remainder of this year and well into 2024.” He continued.
