It appears that Liam Hemsworth’s first appearance as Geralt in The Witcher has faced delay. The filming of season 4 has been kept to a halt, which suggests that we may have to wait longer than anticipated to witness his debut.
According to Redanian Intelligence, the filming of the next season of the popular Netflix show was originally scheduled to begin in September 2023 and end in May 2024. However, the production has been delayed and the new start date is currently unknown, sometime in 2024.
The reason behind the delay for the Netflix series is unknown but it is expected that it can be due to the ongoing strike action by SAG-AFTRA, which means that the actors of Hollywood are striking for better pay and working conditions.
The Witcher had planned to continue filming despite the writers’ strike, but Netflix apparently isn’t predicting the actors’ strike will end before September.
Liam Hemsworth is playing the leading role of monster hunter Geralt of Rivia in season 4 as Henry Cavill has now exited the series after three seasons.
This means that if Netflix sticks to its normal timeline, it’s unlikely that we’ll see Hemsworth’s character again until sometime in 2025.
