Old Blanco County Courthouse is in Blanco and was designed by architect Frederick Ernst Ruffini in the Second Empire style. The scenes in the film where Rooster testifies in court were filmed at the Old Blanco Courthouse in Blanco. The cast and crew filmed in the building and it perfectly matched the time period in which the film was set in.
Austin Club

The Austin Club was built in 1878 and was a perfect location that suited the set up on film. All modern details were removed from the location such as light poles and road stripes on the street, while horses and buggies were added for filming. The club was also used as a location to film the scenes of the movie on Austin’s Ninth Street.

The Texas State Capitol is the capitol and seat of government of the American state of Texas in downtown Austin. In the film when adult Mattie arrives in Memphis in the epilogue to the film the train station she walks through is filmed in the interior of the Texas State Capitol Building.
First National Bank Building

The First National Bank Building is a historic building in the United States. Bartlett is five miles north of Granger and was used as the location where the undertakers, where Mattie views her murdered father’s body and also spends her first night in town along with the dead bodies, was filmed specifically inside the old First National Bank Building on East Clark Street at Evie Street.
In addition to the above locations, the facilities at Austin Studios, located at 1901 E. 51st Street, were used for filming, and the College of Santa Fe – Garson Studios facilities at 1600 Saint Michaels Drive in Santa Fe, New Mexico were also used by the filming unit for the filming of True Grit.
